He was standing on the roof. He didn't know how he got here. Well, he knew exactly how he got on the roof: He climbed up there, all by himself. No, he didn't know how he got stuck here, in this situation. Everything began as a joke. A few years back. He just wanted to know how far he could go, without suffering any serious consequences. Well, turns out, he could go pretty far and the consequences were there, and they weren't funny, but always just not big enough. And they never came from the person he wanted them from the most. His mother.
His mother was a very special person. He loved her, but he also hated her at the same time. She never understood him. She thought she did, that's also what she was bragging about all the time. That she understood him like no other. That's not true. She always wanted the best for him, his mother. She thought she knew what that was. She didn't. And his grandma supported her in everything. Another person who failed him. Along with everyone else on this planet.
When he was forced to go to this school for special kids, it was only normal that he protested a little bit. He was forced to go there! And then it got all out of his hands, really fast. Looking back from where he is now, the teachers weren't too bad, they only wanted the best for him, and right now, he knows, that they could've helped him to achieve his best. Well, one is always wiser arfterwards. But he messed up, supported by his crazy mum. Everyone else at the school was nice too and they really could've helped him, now that he's thinking about it. It all started with him complaining at home, then his mother thought she could help him, by protesting against everything the professionals told her to do. He didn't want this. He wanted her to just tell him 'no' for once. To show him where his limits are. Of course she couldn't do just that. Now there they were: him on the roof and she down there, along with everyone else from his school. He didn't know what to do. Just jump? That would've been the easy way out, for him at least. But what about everyone else? At the moment he could care less about his mother, it was all her fault anyway! But what about his classmates? They shouldn't have to see something like that, they were all way to young. But to just come down from here, would hurt his pride. Maybe he should just sit down and stay here. Wait it all out. And that's exactly what he did. He waited.
Finally, it was already getting dark, someone came up and carried him down. He doesn't remember who it was. He was exhausted from sitting on a roof all day. It's not as chill as it might've looked. In the end he was kinda glad that he didn't have to sleep on that roof. It also wasn't as comfortable as it might've looked. This whole incident didn't help him in his situation though and he was still stuck. With a mother, whose job it was to misunderstand him, or at least that's what he thought, in a school he didn't actually mind but epically failed in and without any hope left that there might just be a happy ending for him.
